Soft reset can resolve issues like continuous resetting/rebooting, device crashing, freezing, won't ring or vibrate, can't make or receive calls, device locks up, and keypad doesn't respond. Our Troubleshooting Assistant can help you with other device issues if you aren't currently using the tool.
- A soft reset (turning the device off then back on) is similar to restarting a desktop computer and is one of the first steps in troubleshooting a device. A soft reset won't affect data on the device.
- If the preferred method is not available, there is an Alternate Method.
- Press and hold down the Power button (upper-right corner).
- Select Power off.
- Press the Power button to power on the device.

Hold for at least 10 seconds.
