In My Verizon, you can prevent or allow access to any of the services listed below for each device on your account. Restricting the following services on a device may help you avoid unwanted or unexpected charges.

  • What types of services can I block in My Verizon?
    From the Block and Unblock Services page, you can prevent devices on your account from being able to purchase and/or use certain types of messaging and purchasing services. We also provide a list of alternatives to blocking each service to help you make the best choice for your specific needs. There are three types of service blocks:

  • Why would I want to block a service?
    Some services allow you to make purchases that will be charged to your account. Others use the data allowance included with your plan. If you want to prevent someone on your account from using these services, you can choose to block them to help avoid unexpected purchase or overage charges on your bill.
  • How do I block a messaging or purchasing service in My Verizon?
    To block a service:

    1. Go to the Block and Unblock Services page in My Verizon.
    2. If you have multiple lines on your account, select the line you want set the service block(s) for.

      Note: The device that has a white background behind it at the top of the page is the selected device.

    3. Select the service(s) you want to block.
    4. Click Continue.
    5. Click OK in the confirmation window.

    You’ve successfully blocked a service.
