What's changing:

This update for the Verizon Internet Gateway (ASK-NCQ1338 and ASK-NCQ1338FA) contains feature and webGUI migration. Below is a summary of some of the major changes:

  • The webGUI format will be completely redesigned. The layout and advanced router settings will see several changes.
  • The admin GUI will now leverage an https address. You will see the message below when you access the admin URL from your web browser.

  • WPA2 will now be the lowest Wi-Fi security setting / option available.
  • There will be some changes to how the primary SSID and Band Steering / SON capabilities will be presented and managed.
  • A new 2.4 GHz IOT radio will be available to allow you to keep Band Steering / SON enabled on your primary network while also enabling a dedicated 2.4 GHz SSID / radio connection where needed.
  • Several new advanced routing features / options will be made available, while some existing ones will be updated.
