If you’re like most people, you’ve had the same phone number for years. Never mind that you moved to a new city years ago, but you just haven’t been able to let go of your digits. Well, if you’ve decided that now is the time, it’s easier than ever to change your phone number with My Verizon. Or, if you want to keep your current phone number, but are making the move to Verizon Wireless, you can do that too!

All you need to do is go to and sign into your “My Verizon” account, or, if you’re already signed in, select “Change Mobile Number” from the My Verizon Navigation. Only Account Owners and Account Managers will have the ability to change a phone number. If you have more than one phone number on your account just select the number you want to change and click next. You’ll have the choice to get a new number from the same city & state as your current number, get a number in a different city & state, or you can port over an existing number- say from a different wireless carrier or a land line. If you want to select a number from the same city & state, you’ll select an area code and exchange from the drop down menu. If you are changing your location, you’ll click on “Change Location”, and then select your area code and exchange. Once you’ve made your selection, click next. Then you select the date you want the change to take effect, and then click next again.

Now pay attention to this part, it’s really important…. Be sure to read over the review page, because once you change your number, you can’t go back to the old one. If everything looks good, click “Submit” and you’re done! The confirmation page will provide instructions to activate your new number depending on your previous selections.

It’s that simple. Just a few clicks and you’re officially a local- you’ve got the number to prove it!
