It’s good to change things up a bit.  When it comes to your wireless devices Verizon makes is super simple to Switch Devices with another plan on your account. This will ensure each person will keep their phone number and plan, but will have the swapped device.

First, sign into My Verizon, then select “Activate or Switch device” from the left hand Navigation, under “Device Management”. Next choose the line on your account you want to swap, and then, you’ll see the option to “Activate” or “Switch device”.

Once you select “Switch Device, you’ll be prompted to select the phone number from the other lines on your account that you want to switch with. When you’ve made your selection, click “Next”.

You’ll then get the option to back up your contacts. Depending on your device you’ll either see an option to run Backup Assistant, or click to view instructions to backup from your device. You’ll want to do this for both devices.
There’s a chance that when you switch devices, the current plan that each device is on may not be compatible. If this is the case, you’ll get prompted to change your plan. Review any changes you’ve made. Confirm the changes and your activation is complete.

It’s important that you follow the next steps that are displayed on the page to ensure your devices are properly activated. These instructions will guide you based on the type of device that you’re activating. Once your switch is complete, don’t forget to restore your contacts.  Not only is change a good thing with Verizon Wireless it’s simple too!
