PHILADELPHIA, PA — The dynamic web site constructed for the Presidents' Summit for America's Future has already had an impact on the country.

With more than 1.6 million accesses to the site already, well over 2 million accesses are expected between now and the summit's close on Tuesday. Millions of visitors over the coming year are expected to review updates of information about the work of delegations, new projects and information about the volunteerism effort spearheaded by America's Promise and its leader, Gen. Colin Powell (Ret.).

"This kind of traffic indicates two things," said Steve Kohn, technology coordinator at the summit for Bell Atlantic and NYNEX. "First, it tells us that a lot of people across America are relying on the Internet and the site to keep on top of summit activities.

"It also tells us that we've designed a site that meets their needs," Kohn said. Visitors who register get automatic updates via the Internet on issues or delegations of interest to them.

The site, http://www.americaspromise.org, is a collaboration between Bell Atlantic Internet Solutions, web site designer Issue Dynamics, Inc. and Viaduct Technologies, designers of the interactive database available to delegates and site visitors.

The site is being fed the latest summit information, including sound bites and video clips made possible by software furnished by digitalNATION.
