New York — Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless communications provider in the US, and Bolt, a leading global communications platform for 15- to 20-year-olds, today announced an agreement to provide Bolt's proprietary tools via Mobile Web, a new nationwide service from Verizon Wireless which gives users access to Web-based information via cell phones and pagers.

Bolt will provide Verizon Wireless users with access to Bolt Everywhere™, the first teen wireless platform that enables two-way communication on any WAP-enabled mobile device using Bolt's proprietary tools and services such as Bolt Notes, Bolt Tagbooks and Bolt Polls. Bolt will be accessible under the "Entertainment" menu through Verizon Wireless' portal or from a user's handset.

"Teens are a highly connected, and extremely interactive demographic - as a group, they want to communicate with their peers through email, instant messaging, phones and pagers," said Dan Pelson, President and CEO of Bolt, Inc. "Through Bolt Everywhere™ and our partnership with Verizon Wireless, we provide the catalyst for our over three million members to accelerate their hyper-connectivity, making Verizon Wireless a more valuable service for their customers and our members."

"This agreement represents our commitment to introduce a complete range of customized information services for our Mobile Web customers. Bolt adds real value to the service, driving users to rely on their mobile phone as an indispensable communications tool that follows them anywhere," said Marc Lefar, Verizon Wireless' staff vice president, e-Business, Wireless Internet and Data Services. "Mobile Web users have the ability to completely customize their wireless Internet experience based on their personal interests and needs, so if staying connected with friends is critical to a user, they can easily access Bolt's platform to be in near-constant touch."

Verizon Wireless today launched its nationwide Mobile Web service, which combines the convenience and mobility of wireless communications with popular content from the World Wide Web. The Mobile Web service, which runs on Verizon Wireless' robust and reliable, coast-to-coast CDMA network, gives users access to the Web-based information they want via their wireless handset.
