Verizon Wireless Donates $2,500 To King County Sexual Assault Resource Center

SEATTLE, WA — Verizon Wireless has donated $2,500 as an associate sponsor for the annual "Kids Are Our Business" fundraising breakfast sponsored by the King County Sexual Assault Resource Center. The event is being held on Friday, February 2 at the Seattle Sheraton Hotel.
The King County Sexual Assault Resource Center is a non-profit organization that works to eliminate sexual assault of any kind in the community. Since the closure of Seattle Rape Relief, the crisis line calls have increased by 30 percent. Last year, nearly 2,000 people turned to the Resource Center for help.
"The Resource Center is a worthwhile organization that provides much needed support to victims, but also important prevention and education tools to others," said Kelley DeLaney, regional president for Verizon Wireless in the Pacific Northwest. "Verizon Wireless has a long history of supporting domestic violence initiatives and is pleased to support this important fundraising effort."
