Verizon Wireless Announces Northern California Executive Team

SAN RAMON, CA — Verizon Wireless today announced five new executive team members for its Northern California region.

  • Tracy Marks, director of marketing
  • Susan Shane, director of business sales
  • Charlotte McKnight, director of financial planning and analysis
  • Debbie St. Pierre, associate director of human resources
  • April Sands, manager of public relations

Marks is responsible for developing and executing all marketing initiatives in the region. Most recently, Marks was the director of advertising at Verizon Wireless' Headquarters in New Jersey. Prior to joining Verizon Wireless, Marks specialized in new business development in the advertising industry.

Shane is responsible for leading, planning and directing business and data sales. Most recently, Shane was the regional manager of market development for Verizon Communications. An employee of GTE since 1973, Shane has extensive experience in managing field business sales teams.

McKnight is responsible for providing financial analysis for regional operations. Previously, McKnight was the senior manager of financial operations and analysis with Nextel Corporation, but she has also held strategic and budget planning positions within GTE.

St. Pierre is responsible for providing human resource support for the employees in the Northern California region. Most recently, St. Pierre was an associate director for human resources for SBC. St. Pierre has also held human resource roles within the public accounting industry.

Sands is responsible for media relations and employee communications within the region. Most recently she was a marketing communications consultant supporting the company's e-commerce group. After beginning her career at a California public relations agency, she held public relations, media relations and marketing communications roles within GTE Wireless.

"Our Northern California leadership team has hit the ground running," said Ralph Martinez - Regional President, Northern California. "Recently we've launched Mobile Messaging (two-way text messaging), and Mobile Web (wireless internet access). We've also made a series of network improvements throughout the region, to increase our call-handling capacity and network quality throughout Northern California."
