ROCHESTER, NY — On Monday, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, will expand its popular multi-state flat-rate pricing -- adding more options and more minutes -- for consumers and businesses in the company's Northeast Area who want simple, predictable pricing with no long distance and roaming charges.

With SingleRateSM Northeast, every call is a local call when made from the large 11-state home rate area. There are no roaming or long distance charges for calls to anywhere in the country when calling from Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, D.C and northern Virginia. SingleRate Northeast is the super-regional version of the company's flagship national SingleRate option, which includes the country as the home rate area.

"Upstate New York customers who travel between Maine and Virginia can choose a wireless plan with a home rate area that spans 11 states," said Tracy Nolan, president for Verizon Wireless in the Upstate New York Region.

"SingleRate Northeast service offers a simple, affordable option for people who have a vacation home in another state or college students who spend part of the year on campus and part at home within the new home rate area."

The new family of SingleRate Northeast plans offers customers six pricing options, starting at $35 monthly access for 300 home airtime minutes up to $200 monthly access for 3,000 minutes with an annual agreement. Customers may select from the following plans to meet their calling needs:

SingleRateSM Northeast

Monthly Access:Home Allowance Minutes:
$35300
$55550
$75750
$1001,300
$1502,000
$200 3,000

In addition to no long distance charges for calls made from the 11-state home rate area, customers can add enhanced services like Mobile Web wireless Internet service and night and weekend calling options for an additional monthly charge.

Also, customers who sign a two-year agreement are automatically enrolled in Verizon Wireless' innovative New Every TwoSM equipment upgrade program which provides eligible customers with a new digital phone, up to $100 in value, every two years when they renew for two years.

"No other wireless provider in the Northeast offers this type of aggressive pricing backed by the best digital wireless network in Upstate New York and the most extensive wireless network nationwide," Nolan added.
