SUFFOLK, VA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, today announced it will hold a celebration to mark the grand opening of its new communications store in Suffolk. The store was moved recently to downtown Suffolk from Highway 460 outside of town to be more accessible to customers.
This Saturday and Sunday, May 5 and May 6, the public and customers are invited to visit the store at 1459 N. Main Street, Unit #29 to take advantage of free giveaways.
As part of the ceremony, Johnny Hart of WLQM radio will broadcast live from the store Saturday from 11 am to 2 pm. Food and beverages will be served and children's entertainment will be provided.
Verizon Wireless now owns and operates 24 retail stores and kiosks throughout Virginia.
"The demand for our digital wireless service is growing rapidly," said Ed White, Verizon Wireless' district manager of store sales and operations. "Customers who visit our retail stores and sales kiosks receive personalized attention from wireless communications experts on products and calling plans that best meet their specific needs," said White.
Verizon Wireless retail stores offer a premier line of digital wireless phones, data products and hands-free calling accessories. Customers can check out the latest wireless Internet and two-way text messaging services, including MobileWeb, Mobile Messenger and Mobile Office. The stores also offer a variety of phones in all price ranges, from the Motorola 2260 with changeable color phone covers ($19.99 - one-year service activation required) to the Verizon Wireless web-ready, Palm-powered Kyocera 6035 Smartphone from ($499.99 with a one-year agreement).
A staff of full-time professionals is on hand to provide customers with information about calling plans and select phones and accessories, including headsets and hands-free devices featured on the communications store's "Safety Wall."
Business hours of the new store are Monday through Friday 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 1 pm to 5 pm.
