HARRISONBURG, VA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, today opened a new store in Harrisonburg in response to growing demand for wireless communications products and services in the area.

Verizon Wireless now owns and operates 24 retail stores and kiosks throughout Virginia.

"The demand for our digital wireless service is growing rapidly," said Greg Jones, Verizon Wireless district manager for store sales and operations. "Customers who visit our retail stores and sales kiosks receive personalized attention from wireless communications experts on products and calling plans that best meet their specific needs," said Jones.

The store is located at 1621 East Market Street. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 to 5 and Sunday 1 to 5.

The store will hold its official grand opening the week of May 21, culminating in a ceremony on May 25.

Verizon Wireless retail stores offer a premier line of digital wireless phones, data products and hands-free calling accessories. Customers can check out the latest wireless Internet and two-way text messaging services, including MobileWebSM, Mobile Messenger and Mobile Office. The stores also offer a variety of phones in all price ranges, from the Motorola 2260 with changeable color phone covers ($19.99 - two-year service activation required) to the Verizon Wireless web-ready, Palm®-powered Kyocera 6035 Smartphone ($499.99 with a one-year agreement).

A staff of full-time professionals is on hand to provide customers with information about calling plans and select phones and accessories, including headsets and hands-free devices featured on the communications store's "Safety Wall".
