SAN RAMON, CA — In response to the success of the company's voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless provider, plans to open 15 new retail stores and kiosks in the Bay Area and Sacramento Area by the end of this year

The company's growth will add 100 positions to the team of 2,500 Verizon Wireless Northern California/Nevada employees already in place. With stores opening in locations across the region, the company created a toll-free number to make it easy for candidates to apply for retail opportunities, including retail management, retail sales and sales operations. Interested and qualified candidates can call the Central Recruitment Center at 1-877-988-HIRE (4473) and apply over the phone. Recruiters are available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week..

"It's great to be announcing opportunities for people who love sales to join in and become a part of the largest wireless communications provider in the U.S. and a member of the Verizon Wireless retail team," said Keith Ard director of retail stores. "The addition of jobs to the local economy is extremely good news, especially considering the economic downturn in the Bay Area. Recent Bureau of Labor statistics reveal that the San Francisco Metropolitan area lost more than 3,000 jobs between January and April of this year. We are pleased that Verizon Wireless' steady growth enables us to make new jobs available in the local area," Ard added.

Verizon Wireless provides training and offers a comprehensive salary and benefits package that includes 401(K) savings plan and more.

Verizon Wireless currently owns and operates 40 retail stores and kiosk throughout the Greater Bay Area and Sacramento Area.
