GAITHERSBURG, MD — InstantDx, an innovative technology provider for the medical community, announced today a strategic agreement with NDCHealth (National Data Corporation, NYSE: NDC), a leading provider of health information services, to offer 30,000 physicians access to InstantDx's OnCallData.

A practical, convenient wireless application, OnCallData enables physicians to order prescriptions for patients from pharmacies, receive lab results and gain access to protected practice information, around-the-clock, 24/7. Coupled with NDCHealth's Medisoft or LYTEC® practice management systems, InstantDx and its existing independent partners, Verizon Wireless, the largest wireless communications provider in the U.S.; and Giant Pharmacy, a division of Giant Food Inc., will offer electronic prescribing with OnCallData to help reduce medication errors due to illegible handwriting and lost prescriptions.

Physicians in the Mid-Atlantic region using NDCHealth's practice management systems combined with OnCallData can, in real-time, write and send prescriptions directly to pharmacy's computer systems electronically. Giant is the first pharmacy to take advantage of this electronic connectivity. In addition, physicians using the systems can receive patients' lab results via their desktop computer or a Web-browsing mobile phone, PDA, or other Web-enabled device without having to synch with a desktop computer.

"By joining forces with North America's leading provider of pharmacy health information services, NDCHealth and our existing independent partners, Verizon Wireless and Giant, we will make a significant impact on the way physicians and their staff manage daily routines," said Allan Weinstein, chief executive officer and co-chairman of InstantDx.

"Leveraging NDCHealth's practice management systems and intelligent network services with InstantDx's OnCallData helps to lay the groundwork for electronic connectivity to pharmacies all across the U.S.," said Lance Liotta, co-chairman of InstantDx.

"We are pleased to be a part of this organized effort with InstantDx, Verizon Wireless and Giant Pharmacy," said Walter M. Hoff, chief executive officer of NDCHealth. "Combining NDCHealth's practice management systems and intelligent network services with the wireless capabilities of OnCallData, physicians will enjoy added convenience through any time, remote access to lab results, prescribing capabilities and their selected practice information. In addition, electronic prescribing streamlines busy pharmacists' workflow by making it easier to read prescriptions and faster to obtain refill approvals from physicians."

Barry Scher, Giant's vice president of public affairs, said, "We are pleased to be involved with this cooperative program with NDCHealth, InstantDx and Verizon Wireless to facilitate accurate communication between physicians and our store pharmacists."

"We chose to work with InstantDx again, and NDCHealth and Giant, to provide OnCallData, because we recognize the value and importance of this service for doctors and patients alike," said Jim Straight, Vice President of the Wireless Data and Internet Division of Verizon Wireless.
