IRVINE, CA — Verizon Wireless today announced a special promotion in cooperation with Wherehouse Music Stores that will make customers of both companies eligible to receive three free phone wraps as part of Wherehouse Music's "Mr. W's All Access V.I.P. Pass" promotion. This is the first cooperative effort between the nation's largest wireless provider and the major music retailer.

Customers of Wherehouse Music may pick up a wallet-sized "Mr. W's All Access V.I.P. Pass" stamp card at any of the music company's participating stores in the Western U.S. The card contains twelve blank stamp spaces with corresponding offers for a variety of youth-oriented products. Each time the customer makes a Wherehouse Music purchase of $9.99 or more, they receive a stamp on their card.

Customers who collect three stamps will receive a coupon that can be exchanged for three free phone wraps at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and Kiosks when they activate a new line of service and purchase a Motorola V120c "Tarpon" wireless phone. Phone wrap colors include Bottle Blue, Safety Orange and Lime Green.

"We're pleased to have the opportunity to work with Wherehouse Music on this promotion," said Lucy Bridges, Verizon Wireless' manager of youth marketing for the West area. "We see it as an excellent addition to our youth marketing effort, which also includes sponsorship of this summer's *NSYNC 2001 Popodyssey Tour. Our products and services fit well into the lifestyle of today's mobile, active young adults," she added.

The Motorola V120c "Tarpon" phone was introduced exclusively earlier this month by Verizon Wireless. "This unique phone serves triple duty," according to Bridges. "Not only is it a state-of-the-art tri-mode wireless phone, it also is capable of giving users access to Mobile Web™ and Mobile MessengerSM services. What's really unique, is that it also functions as an FM radio with its optional FM radio headset."

Existing Verizon Wireless customers can take advantage of this offer by upgrading to a "Tarpon" phone. This offer may also be combined with any other current Verizon Wireless promotion.
