CHARLOTTE, NC — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless communications provider, today announced the opening of its first Carolinas retail kiosk location in the Carolina Place mall in Pineville.
"This is an exciting time for Verizon Wireless as our retail presence expands in a major growth area of South Mecklenburg County," said Belinda Cockerill, associate director of retail sales for Verizon Wireless. "This new kiosk, the first of its kind in the Carolinas, will allow us to reach customers in one of the premier regional malls in the country."
Carolina Place ranks in the top 10% of regional malls nationwide with more than $300 million in annual sales and 1.1 million square feet of retail space. The mall is regarded as the retail flagship of South Mecklenburg County and the I-485 corridor.
Positioned at mall location 6A, the kiosk will feature all the amenities of a Verizon Wireless Communications store including a full-time Verizon Wireless sales associate and a wide selection of wireless price plans, phones and accessories.
"We're bringing our products and services to customers using both traditional and non-traditional means," Cockerill said. "Our kiosks provide a non-traditional access point for customers to shop our products and services without losing the customer service or product offerings of a communications store. Customers can expect an identical shopping experience that is centered around meeting a customer's needs and exceeding their expectations."
The Carolina Place Mall kiosk is the first of many retail additions and upgrades planned for the Carolinas. Over the next eight months, the company plans to open two new kiosks and two new communications stores, while relocating another three stores to larger locations.
