PHOENIX, AZ — Verizon Wireless today announced that it is the official wireless sponsor for the ninth annual Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race for the Cure to be held on Sunday, Oct. 14. As part of its sponsorship, Verizon Wireless will offer an additional 100 free minutes with any new digital service activation at any Phoenix area Verizon Wireless store to customers who register for the race by Oct. 13.

"Verizon Wireless is proud to once again help contribute to the success of an event that is so important to our community," said Ralph Martinez, president of Verizon Wireless' Desert Mountain region.

Proceeds from the race go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Research Program as well as other life-saving breast health education, screening, diagnosis and treatment services for Arizona women.
