KAHULUI, HI — In response to growing demand for Verizon Wireless' communications products and services, the nation's largest wireless provider has opened its newest retail store in the Maui Marketplace in Kahului. Maui resident Ku'ulei Jakubczak has been named store manager, joining Verizon Wireless with over ten years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Jakubczak will oversee the store's daily operations and manage a staff trained to meet customer needs.

The new Verizon Wireless store, nearly triple the size of the previous location, features a wide array of products and services and double the number of sales staff to serve customers. To celebrate the opening of the new store, the first 100 customers who activate a new calling plan at the Maui Marketplace will receive a $35 service credit applied to their next bill.

"Verizon Wireless offers a sack full of savings to new and existing customers, making it easier than ever to give the gift of wireless this holiday season," said Jakubczak. "Offers range from bonus minutes and unlimited text messaging to cool, new phones and accessories. Our newest product offering is the V200 Personal Communicator from Motorola, which combines the full functionality of a wireless phone, a powerful speakerphone, miniature PC-like keyboard that makes 2-way text messaging faster and easier than ever, and a WAP browser for Internet access and wireless email. Verizon Wireless is a one-stop shop for every member of the family."

To mark the opening of the new store, Verizon Wireless employees are donating toys and toiletries to a Maui emergency shelter for domestic violence victims. The items, donated by employees during a recent one-month collection drive, will be delivered to Women Helping Women's Hale Lokomaika'i shelter. To further support domestic violence victims, Verizon Wireless continues to collect used wireless phones at all of its stores through its HopeLineSM phone recycling program.

The new retail store is another indication of the company's commitment to the Maui market. This year, Verizon Wireless will invest more than $2 million in network investments on Maui, including network capacity enhancements that have been completed in Kahului, Wailuku and Kihei. Plans are in place for three additional digital cell sites on Maui over the next few months.

The store address is 270 Diary Road. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 am - 8 pm, Saturday 9am - 6 pm and Sunday 11 am - 5 pm. (Call 808-877-4343 for extended holiday hours).
