Verizon Wireless Names Christine Baron President Of Philadelphia Tri-State Region

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Christine Baron has been appointed president of the Philadelphia Tri-State Region for Verizon Wireless. As president of one of the most competitive wireless markets in the United States, Baron assumes responsibility for the company's operations throughout Philadelphia and its suburbs, the Lehigh Valley, southern New Jersey and Delaware. She will oversee all company sales distribution channels including Verizon Wireless retail stores, corporate accounts, telemarketing and indirect agent relationships. Additionally, she is responsible for customer service operations and expansion of the company's advanced wireless voice and data network.

"Chris brings more than a decade of wireless sales management and operations experience to her new position," said Rick Conrad, the company's president of Northeast operations. "Her extensive operations background and her sharp focus on customer satisfaction will serve her well in her new role of leading our Philadelphia operation, the fifth-largest market in the country."

Baron most recently served as vice president of Verizon Wireless' Northeast Area Marketing and Sales Operations, which includes New England, Upstate New York, Philadelphia Tri-State, New York Metro and Washington/Baltimore/Virginia regions.

She was responsible for sales support for all channels in the Area's five regions, including store expansion, relocation and merchandising, point-of-sale materials, facilities management, training and development. While serving in this capacity, Baron oversaw development of the template for company Communications Store layouts and processes now used as a model throughout the Northeast. Baron also supervised the addition of more than 50 new stores in 2001 from New England to Virginia.

Baron began her career with Verizon Wireless in 1991 as an account executive in Northern New Jersey and has served in a number of sales and operational management positions, including executive director of sales and regional director of corporate accounts, both in the New York Metro Region.
