DALLAS, TX and BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation's largest wireless service provider, today announced an agreement with Trio Teknologies to distribute Verizon Wireless' market-leading data services. Trio Teknologies will distribute Verizon Wireless' 1XRTT high-speed data network—its Express NetworkSM-- its Mobile IP™ CDPD data service and its Mobile Web™ CDMA data service.
As a proven leader and go-to wireless carrier for data services, Verizon Wireless has several options for enterprise customers to fulfill their needs in helping them to increase productivity among their mobile workforces. Verizon Wireless' Express Network is the first national high-speed data network, available in more than 800 U.S. cities.
Trio Teknologies is a leading value-added distributor of Wireless Wide Area Networking (WWAN) products and services, offering resellers design and deployment support for complete wireless data business solutions nationwide. Trio will market and integrate solutions for all data hardware currently authorized for use on Verizon Wireless' nationwide network.
"With Express Network, the wireless data experience is significantly enhanced, giving access to wireless Web browsing, e-mail, corporate intranets or VPNs at speeds similar to or better than a home dial-up connection," said Tony Heyman, vice president of national distribution for Verizon Wireless. "We look forward to working with Trio to increase corporate access to data in all of our active markets."
"We are extremely pleased to add Verizon Wireless CDMA service to our solution portfolio and to offer this leading technology to our reseller channel," said Gordon Dahl, president of Trio Teknologies. "Key to this agreement is the Express Network. Many of our partners have been asking for this particular 1XRTT service because of the throughput speeds of which it is capable."
The 1XRTT network enhances all levels of wireless communications - from a simple voice call, to full Internet browsing, streaming video, and e-mail. The Express Network supports enterprise applications, giving companies with mobile employees tools for increased productivity and efficiency. Express Network customers can expect average data transmission speeds between 40 and 60 kilobits per second (kbps) with bursts up to 144 kbps. Mobile IP is based on Cellular Digital Packet Data (CDPD) technology that is inherently secure and economical, which makes it a solution that is frequently used in many vertical markets, such as law enforcement. Mobile Web by VZW with MSN® gives customers the flexibility to surf their favorite Web sites and also gives access to the best services from MSN, including Hotmail® and instant messaging with MSN Messenger.
