Verizon Wireless Names Tami Erwin As Desert Mountain Region President

PHOENIX, AZ — Verizon Wireless, the nation’s leading wireless provider, has selected Tami Erwin, a wireless industry veteran and former West Area vice president – customer service, to serve as president of the Desert Mountain Region.

In her new position, Erwin is responsible for the strategic direction, sales and general operations for Verizon Wireless in Arizona; Colorado; New Mexico; Las Vegas; El Paso, Texas; the Utah markets associated with Cedar City and St. George; and the Wyoming markets associated with Casper, Cheyenne, Douglas and Laramie.

“Tami’s commitment to service excellence, and more than 16 years’ experience leading employees to meet the needs of customers, will be a great asset to the markets she serves as regional president while we continue to introduce new consumer and business products and services,” said Brian Shay, Verizon Wireless’ West Area president. 

Erwin began her career in the wireless industry in 1987, as a customer service representative for US WEST in Bellevue, WA.  Later she held a series of management positions with AirTouch Cellular and then Verizon Wireless, representing a broad range of customer service functions, including outbound calling, technical operations, call center administration, activations and service inquiries. 

She attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA, majoring in Business Administration.
