DENVER, CO — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, has invested more than $150 million in Colorado over the past 18 months to enhance the reach and capabilities of its wireless network in the state.  The Colorado investment was part of Verizon Wireless' ongoing, aggressive network investment program that has averaged $4 billion a year for the last two years.

Using Verizon Wireless' Express NetworkSM, customers throughout the state are now able to send and receive information wirelessly, at speeds similar to or better than what users experience when dialing in from their home PC — average data transmission speeds between 40 and 60 kilobits per second (kbps) with bursts up to 144 kbps.  Express Network is available in thousands of cities and towns across the nation on Verizon Wireless' network.

Additionally, Verizon Wireless customers now have an easy way to communicate visually, using the company's new picture messaging service.  With just four easy "clicks" — taps of the keypad — picture messaging from Verizon Wireless lets customers share special moments.  Customers simply snap a picture with their camera phone, enter a Verizon Wireless phone number or any e-mail address, type a TXT message, add a sound and hit send to send a picture message to another Verizon Wireless customer, any e-mail address or virtual photo album.

"We are pleased we can now offer high-speed wireless data access and picture messaging to customers in Colorado and throughout the country on our network," said Tami Erwin, regional president, Verizon Wireless.
