DALLAS, TX — As part of a new initiative aimed directly at serving the needs of its expanding Hispanic customer base in Texas, Verizon Wireless recently announced a new, high-value offer for calls to Mexico — just 10 cents a minute when calling from the Verizon Wireless Call Mexico rate area.

This new service option is available immediately for both new and existing Verizon Wireless customers. Customers who add this feature today will be able to make unlimited calls from Texas to Mexico through August 31 for only $2.99 monthly access plus 10 cents a minute airtime charges.

"We're thrilled to make it even easier to stay in touch with family and friends in Mexico. Affordable phone calls to Mexico are vital to many Texans and this offer will provide customers a less expensive alternative to make those important calls," said Gary Riding, Verizon Wireless region president. "It is just another way we are working aggressively to meet the needs of our diverse customer base."

With rates as low or lower than other wireless and long distance to Mexico rates, Verizon Wireless customers with an average long distance bill to Mexico of 45 minutes per month can save up to $13 per month using Verizon Wireless' Call Mexico plan. In addition, current Verizon Wireless customers can save at least 17 perent per month over their current long distance charges at $0.20 per minute.
