ORANGEBURG, NY — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless provider, now offers a complete Spanish-language shopping experience at more than 30 Communications Stores throughout the New York Metro area. Marked with signs that read "Hablamos Espanol" and located in areas with large Hispanic populations, the stores feature bilingual wireless phone and calling plan displays, brochures and pricing information to make shopping easier and more convenient for Spanish-speaking customers.

In addition, specially trained bilingual sales representatives wearing name tags with "Hablo Espanol" are available in these stores to assist customers with wireless purchases and questions. New customers also may opt to receive their confirmation letters, welcome kits and monthly bills in Spanish. Existing customers may choose to receive monthly bills in Spanish by visiting any Verizon Wireless Communications Store, or by calling customer service at 1-800-256-4646.

The Spanish-language services at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores are part of the company's commitment to offer customers the best wireless experience available, from shopping to customer care, billing and service on the nation's largest, most reliable wireless network. Other new offerings for Spanish-speaking customers include bilingual staffing in customer service centers, telesales offices and authorized agent locations, and a variety of products and services developed to meet the needs of the more than 3.5 million Hispanics in the New York Metro area. IN calling to Puerto Rico; blah!, a multi-language mobile chat service; and 411 Connect®, a directory assistance service with a Spanish option, are a few of those services.

"Customer satisfaction is our number one priority at Verizon Wireless. Offering Spanish-language services improves our ability to meet the needs of the area's Spanish-speaking population, which is the second largest in the country," said Charles Hand, president of Verizon Wireless' New York Metro Region. "Our goal is to make all customers feel comfortable doing business with us and to help Spanish-speaking customers get the best value from their Verizon Wireless products and services."

Last June, Verizon Wireless introduced a Spanish-language Web site, www.verizonwireless.com/espanol, which lets customers research and purchase wireless phones and calling plans online, including America's ChoiceSM Family SharePlan® and Pay As You Go prepay wireless service.

The company recently rolled out a major advertising campaign to promote its Spanish-language services on Hispanic TV and radio, in newspapers, and in communities with large Hispanic populations, where ads appear on billboards and in convenience stores. Verizon Wireless also is participating in several Hispanic festivals and neighborhood carnivals this summer.
