BELLEVUE, WA — Verizon Wireless' consistent customer growth has triggered a continuing effort to provide the latest wireless products and services at convenient, accessible locations. As a result, Verizon Wireless has expanded its retail locations in Washington 43 percent in 2004 over 2003, and increased total retail jobs by 36 percent.

New retail locations this year include ten Circuit City Superstores in Washington where Verizon Wireless will operate a store with-in a store concept and shoppers will be able to enjoy the same great products and customer service they would find in any Verizon Communications Store. Verizon Wireless/Circuit City stores in Washington include:

  • 2815 Capital Mall Dr. SW, Olympia
  • 4124 Tacoma Mall BLVD, Tacoma
  • 9991 Mickelberry Dr. NW, Silverdale
  • 223 Andover Park East, Tukwila
  • 3944 Meridian Street, Bellingham
  • 510 SW Everett Mall Way, Everett
  • 2800 196th Street SW, Lynnwood
  • 15600 NE 8th Street, Bellevue
  • 15110 East Indiana Ave. Spokane
  • 7701 N. Division Street, Spokane

Other retail locations include two new Verizon Wireless Communications Stores in Wenatchee and Auburn raising the number of retail locations in Washington to forty. Verizon Wireless' record-breaking customer growth has also meant new jobs for local communities. Verizon Wireless added 120 jobs to Washington's local economy during 2004 to serve its growing customer base. The company continues to hire qualified candidates, particularly for retail and customer service positions.

High demand for Verizon Wireless' calling plans, including the affordable and national America's ChoiceSM plan, as well as new email/multi-functional products like the Treo and Blackberry, and data offerings like text and picture messaging, have increased the value of wireless service for consumers and business users.

To stay ahead of demand, Verizon Wireless has invested more than any other U.S. wireless provider — more than $4 billion annually — to maintain and expand its high-quality network nationwide. In Washington alone the company has invested more than $148 million during the past two years enhancing its network reach and its voice and data capabilities. "Our consistent investment in network excellence, combined with the opening of new retail locations in Washington will make it easier for holiday shoppers to take advantage of Verizon Wireless' expansive network and wide variety of service plans, with choices to fit any lifestyle and income," said Kelley Kurtzman, regional president.
