DENVER, CO — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has selected Jeff Mango to serve as president of the Denver-based Mountain Region, effective November 1. In his new position, Mango is responsible for the strategic direction, sales and general operations for Verizon Wireless in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.
"Jeff's leadership and extensive sales experience will aid us in serving customers in these key states as we continue to introduce new consumer and business products and services on the nation's most reliable network," said Fran Shammo, Verizon Wireless' West Area president. Each year, Verizon Wireless invests on average about a billion dollars every 90 days in its national network, constantly improving and expanding the capabilities and reach of what is already the largest, most reliable nationwide wireless network in the United States.
Mango's sales experience spans urban, suburban and rural markets. He most recently served as executive director of Retail Sales and Operations for Verizon Wireless in New York Metro Region, where he was responsible for managing store sales and operations in the greater New York City area. He joined the wireless industry in 1994 as a retail sales representative and later held a variety of sales management positions in different states, including communications store manager at Bell Atlantic Nynex Mobile and regional director at Bell Atlantic Mobile.
Jeff earned a bachelor of science in Sales from Johnson & Wales University, in Providence, Rhode Island.
