BEDMINSTER, NJ — Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, announced today it has expanded its relationship with Sony BMG Music Entertainment to bring more music from Sony BMG artists to Verizon Wireless customers. The agreement brings a wide catalog of hit songs from Sony BMG artists to Verizon Wireless' mobile music offerings, and includes master ringtones and newly launched Ringback Tones — clips of real music as heard on a CD that replace the standard ring callers hear when they call the Verizon Wireless phone of a Ringback Tone subscriber. The agreement also includes opportunities for the two companies to develop joint marketing programs.

"Sony BMG Music Entertainment's artists roster includes some of the most talented artists in the world," said Paul Palmieri, executive director of business development for Verizon Wireless. "Sony BMG Music is a leader in mobile media, and this agreement allows our customers to get cool ringtones and set up Ringback Tones, giving them even more ways to personalize their phones."

"From ringtones to Ringback Tones, our relationship with Verizon Wireless provides us with important opportunities to help consumers to make the music they love an integral part of their daily lives," said Thomas Gewecke, senior vice president of the digital business group for Sony BMG Music Entertainment. "We are delighted to expand our relationship with Verizon Wireless, and to continue our long tradition of leadership in the mobile space by making our artists' music available through these exciting distribution channels."

Verizon Wireless products and services are available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at participating Best Buy, Circuit City and RadioShack locations and on the Web at www.verizonwireless.com.
