Giants' Fans to Get Latest Team News via Verizon Wireless TXT Messages

To send alerts, the Giants use the Internet and a web-based authoring tool to enter up to 160 characters per alert including breaking news about the team and personnel, updates on game day, pre-game scouting reports, post-game comments and special offers during the season.

Fans are billed two-cents for each alert received and they can choose how often they want to get alerts. Verizon Wireless customers who want the full benefits of two-way TXT Messaging can purchase packages with 100 to 2,500 messages a month for $2.99 to $19.99.
