ALPHARETTA, GA — Verizon Wireless, the nation's best, most reliable wireless network announced today their designation as "The Exclusive and Official Wireless Provider of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta." This exclusive, multi-year agreement with the Atlanta chapter of the national organization, 100 Black Men of America (100 BMA), will provide sponsorship to the organizations key annual events, including the 100 Black Men of Atlanta Golf Tournament, President's Dinner, and the popular annual Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic held each September at the Georgia Dome. The agreement begins this month and will run through January 31, 2008.

"Verizon Wireless is excited to announce this relationship with the 100 Black Men of Atlanta," said Jim McGean, president of Georgia and Alabama for Verizon Wireless. "When we support an organization, we want to see a commonality of ideals and beliefs." He continues, "100 Black Men of Atlanta's mission to improve the quality of life in the community and enhance educational and economic opportunities were an ideal match for Verizon Wireless and the types of programs we seek out to support."

John Grant, Executive Director and COO of the 100 Black Men explained their reasons for pursuing this exclusive agreement: "Like 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Verizon Wireless shares the common value of providing quality services to the community. They have demonstrated leadership in the market place and a strong sense of their own brand values. Those are the same ideals that we strive to share with the communities we serve through 100 BMA's programs and events. They will be a welcome addition to our organization."

Attendees to 100BMA events will immediately notice Verizon Wireless' presence within the various venues. For example, during the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic, to be held September 24, 2005 at the Georgia Dome, visitors will be able to participate in a trivia game using Verizon Wireless text messaging, as well as cheer their favorite team to the end zone with the "Verizon Wireless Connection Zone" promotion. Verizon Wireless customers will also be able to take part in the pre-game excitement with in-store ticket giveaways prior to the Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic.

In addition to on-site promotions, this agreement will help members of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta further their mission of economic empowerment within their communities. Specifically, technology seminars will be conducted for 100BMA members within various industries to demonstrate how Verizon Wireless products and services can result in productivity improvements for their businesses.
