NASHVILLE, IN — To stay ahead of its growing customer base and demand for its voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Nashville.

The new cell site improves the company's digital network coverage in the town of Nashville and the following areas:

  • State Road 135 between Nashville and Bean Blossom
  • State Road 46 between Nashville and Gnaw Bone

As a result of the network enhancement, Verizon Wireless customers will experience fewer dropped calls and clearer reception while talking on their wireless phones, handling data applications (such as TXT and Picture Messaging) or downloading games and ring tones with the company's Get It Now® services.

"It's no coincidence that we have the most loyal customers in the wireless industry," said Greg Haller, president—Indiana/Kentucky/Michigan Region, Verizon Wireless. "Customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us because they want wireless service they can rely on. That is why continuously investing in and improving our network remains our top priority."

Activation of this new cell site is part of Verizon Wireless' continuous effort to increase capacity and augment the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Indiana and across the country. Since its inception, the company has consistently spent more than $4 billion annually-and more than $5 billion last year-to expand and enhance its network nationwide. Approximately $103 million of this investment was spent in 2004 to stay ahead of the growing demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in Indiana.
