Verizon Wireless Strengthens Local Network In Lancaster, Pennsylvania

LANCASTER, PA — Area consumers and businesses will benefit from enhancements made to the local Verizon Wireless network with the company's activation of a new cell site at Millersville University and a second new cell site at Park City Center Mall in Lancaster. The service improvements to the nation's most reliable network enhance capacity for in-building coverage at Millersville University and for customers in areas surrounding the campus. Additional improvements will benefit customers in the areas of Park City Center Mall, Franklin and Marshall College, Manheim Pike, Harrisburg Pike and Routes 283 and 30.

"The benefits of this network improvement for our customers in the Lancaster and Millersville University areas include fewer dropped calls and clearer reception because more customers will be able to use their wireless phones concurrently," said Roger Tang, president—Ohio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. "Our focus is on providing more capacity and the highest reliability on our network."

Last year, Verizon Wireless invested $250 million in Pennsylvania to maintain and enhance its network for customers. The network improvements increased network reliability and paved the way for customers to better take advantage of this year's newest wireless voice and data products and services, including more sophisticated camera phones and advanced Get It Now® downloads.
