BACKGROUND: Verizon Wireless continues to work around-the-clock on its network and at stores to provide support to residents in the affected areas in the Gulf Coast. As the recovery efforts continue, Verizon Wireless has restored service to more than 95 percent of the areas in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Northshore areas of Lake Pontchartrain that were affected by the hurricane.
