Verizon Wireless Names New Upstate New York Regional President

ROCHESTER, NY — Verizon Wireless has appointed Kenneth Dixon president of the company's Rochester-based Upstate New York Region. He replaces John Palmer, who has been named president of the company's Southern California Region. As regional president, Dixon will set the company's strategic direction and direct its wireless network expansion, Customer Service and sales efforts in Upstate New York. He will also oversee the provider's distribution strategy, including the expansion of its company-owned Communications Stores.

Dixon has been with the company since 1992, serving in various sales and marketing management positions. Most recently, he served as director of Business Sales for the region.

"Ken brings more than 14 years of wireless sales and operations experience to Upstate New York," said Verizon Wireless' Northeast Area president Rick Conrad. "We are fortunate to have someone of Ken's caliber to build on the legacy of success we've enjoyed in Upstate New York."

Prior to his tenure in the Upstate New York Region, Dixon was regional director of Business Sales across Southern New England. He also served as president of the company's Georgia Region. Dixon joined the wireless industry as a corporate account executive for NYNEX Mobile. He held a number of marketing and sales management positions at NYNEX Mobile and later, Bell Atlantic Mobile, both predecessor companies of Verizon Wireless. Which was created in 2000.

Dixon earned a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University.
