IRVINE, CA — In its continuing effort to provide the most reliable wireless service in southern California, Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has expanded its network with key cell sites in San Bernardino and San Diego counties.

"Customers choose Verizon Wireless and stay with us because they know they'll get wireless service they can depend on," said John Palmer, regional president of Verizon Wireless. "The company's $600 million investment in its premier wireless network in California in 2005 demonstrates Verizon Wireless's commitment to customer satisfaction."

Motorists and residents in San Bernardino County, Calif. are now experiencing increased coverage thanks to a new Verizon Wireless cell site in the city Chino Hills. The site provides additional coverage along Highway 71, extending from Big League Dreams Sports Park in the south and to the Chino Hills Parkway exit in the north. The new cell site also greatly improves coverage and call capacity for residents in the neighborhoods near Danbury Park.

Verizon Wireless also recently brought into service a new cell site near Lake Poway in San Diego County. The new site not only provides call volume relief for a cell site nearby, but also significantly improves coverage in several communities east of Espola Road and in the residential areas around Poway High School.

These new cell sites are part of Verizon Wireless' multi-billion dollar network investment each year to stay ahead of growing demand in southern California for the company's popular voice and data services, including V CAST and TXT Messaging, Picture Messaging, BroadbandAccess wireless Internet access and Get It Now® ring tones, games, productivity applications and more.

Demand for Verizon Wireless services was high in the third quarter of 2005 as the company added 1.9 million net new customers --- more than any other U.S. wireless provider. Additionally, Verizon Wireless has been recognized consistently as the leader in the U.S. wireless industry, not only for its network coverage, products and services, but also for its customer service and loyalty. In the third quarter of 2005 alone, Verizon Wireless posted the lowest customer churn rate — 1.3% - among national carriers and topped key third-party surveys of customer satisfaction.

These recent improvements in Southern California are part of Verizon Wireless' continuous effort to increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network. Verizon Wireless has regularly invested more than $4 billion nationally each year since its inception -- and more than $5 billion in the first nine months of 2005 alone -- to expand and upgrade its nationwide wireless network.

The company's 'most reliable network' claim is based on network studies performed by real-life test men and test women throughout the country who inspired the "Can you hear me now? Good®" national advertising campaign. These engineers conduct more than 300,000 call attempts monthly on Verizon Wireless' and other national carriers' networks while traveling over 100,000 miles a month in specially equipped, company-owned test vehicles.
