Verizon Wireless Opens New Communications Store in Rochester, Minnesota, and Hires Eight New Employees

ROCHESTER, MN — Verizon Wireless today announced the opening of its first Communications Store in Rochester, bringing closer to area consumers the latest products and services of the company that operates the nation's most reliable network. The company also announced it has hired eight Rochester-area residents to fill newly created retail positions.

Located at 1200 W. 16th St. in the Apache Shops, the 2,890-square-foot store includes both sales and customer service areas to better serve residents of the Rochester area. It is one of 22 company-owned Communications stores and kiosks in Minnesota.

Verizon Wireless also hired eight Rochester-area residents to fill new retail positions at the store:

  • Sherry Jackson — assistant store manager
  • Trent Pikula, Tim Corry, Matt Erwin and Joe Olevson — retail sales representatives
  • Dan Wildfeurer and Jennifer Card — customer service representatives
  • Tom Werle — assistant for retail sales operations

In addition, Verizon Wireless has promoted Brianna Jung to manager of the new Rochester store. Jung has served as assistant manager of the company's Communications Store in Burnsville, Minn., since November 2004.

The Rochester store is open Monday though Friday from 9 a.m.—9 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m.—8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m.—6 p.m. The store's phone number is 507- 252-9955.

Verizon Wireless launched network services in Rochester on Dec. 1, 2005.
