SCHAUMBURG, IL — Verizon Wireless has promoted T.J. Fox to president of the company's Illinois/Wisconsin Region.
In his new position, Fox will be responsible for sales and overall company operations in northern and central Illinois, Wisconsin, northern Indiana (including Gary and South Bend) and Davenport, Iowa, and communities surrounding Davenport. More than 950 employees directly support the region in addition to more than 100 retail stores and kiosks and 310-plus indirect agent locations.
Fox has been with Verizon Wireless and its legacy companies for 14 years. Most recently, he was director of Retail Sales for Verizon Wireless' Southwest Region, a position he held since late 2004. Prior to that, he was director of Business Sales in two regions: for Southern California in 2004 and the former Desert Mountain from 2000 to 2003. He also has held the positions of business account executive, Telesales manager and major account sales manager.
Three of the past four years, Fox was named to Verizon Wireless' prestigious President's Cabinet for ranking in the top 1.5 percent nationally in sales, placing him as one of the company's top performers among its more than 15,000 salespeople.

A native of Annapolis, Md., Fox earned his bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Va. He and his family will reside in the Chicago metropolitan area.
