ALPHARETTA, GA — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, announced today that Chick-fil-A, Inc. has signed a two-year, voice and data agreement. Implemented in January, this agreement will offer wireless service to more than 45,000 members of the Chick-fil-A system.

Chick-fil-A chose Verizon Wireless for its high customer service marks, most reliable network, and data service and product selection. Chick-fil-A has currently purchased 1000 Verizon Wireless lines and 1000 handsets, including Treos and PDAs. Additionally, the Atlanta-based company has invested in BroadbandAccess PC cards giving its chain wide employees access to the nation's largest high-speed wireless broadband network.

"As we were researching wireless options to enhance our business, we came to the conclusion that we needed to align with a business-class carrier with the most reliable network," says Linda McEntire, Information Technology of Chick-fil-A. "Like Verizon Wireless, Chick-fil-A prides itself on A+ customer service. We are confident in Verizon Wireless' network and its ability to help our employees meet company objectives and provide immediate response to our customers' needs."

"Chick-fil-A is an Atlanta icon. We are thrilled to be affiliated with an organization such as Chick-fil-A that is customer-focused and strives to be the absolute best in their industry," says Mark Bartolomeo, Director — Business Sales, Verizon Wireless. "We too focus day in and day out on being the best. It's outstanding to know that the solid reputation and commitment we've made to deliver a superior wireless experience to our customers has won the attention of this well respected Atlanta-grown company and its restaurant system."

As evidence of its commitment to deliver America's best, most reliable wireless network, over the last two years, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $330 Million to expand its wireless network in Georgia. This overall investment continues the company's "best wireless network" promise by adding network coverage and capacity statewide, including sizeable investments in rural and suburban markets. Over and above wireless voice service, Verizon Wireless' high speed wide-area BroadbandAccess wireless data service is offered in metro Atlanta area and has recently been expanded to include Athens.

Verizon Wireless' BroadbandAccess service is the largest high-speed wireless network in the U.S. with typical user speeds of 400-700 kilobits per second (kbps) and is available to more than 148 million Americans in 181 major metropolitan areas and is expanding coast to coast. BroadbandAccess provides mobile county workers full access to information, just as if they were attached via a high-speed wired connection, but with the freedom of true mobility. From a security perspective, the company's network is built on CDMA technology, originally developed for military applications, which provides reliable and network-wide security that is critical for government entities.
