MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Verizon Wireless has named Patrick Lee manager of its retail location in Mt. Laurel. In this position, Lee will be responsible for customer service, retail sales, inventory, merchandising and employee training for the store, located at 1211 Route 73. He will also oversee the Mt. Laurel location's HopeLine® wireless phone collection program. Through HopeLine, Verizon Wireless collects no-longer-used wireless phones, regardless of make, model or carrier, to be refurbished or recycled in an environmentally friendly way. Proceeds are donated to domestic violence prevention advocacy groups or used to purchase wireless phones with free airtime for use by survivors. Phone donations are accepted during store business hours, Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. — 9 p.m. and Sundays, 11:00 a.m. — 6 p.m.

Previously, Lee managed the Verizon Wireless retail store in Cherry Hill. An employee of Verizon Wireless for eight years, he began his career as a technician. He was then hired as a sales representative for the Mt. Laurel store before being promoted to supervisor of the Oxford Valley Mall Kiosk, then assistant manager of the Woodhaven store. Lee has managed several Verizon Wireless stores throughout his career with the company. A Camden County resident, Lee has a degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from Pennco Tech.

Demand for Verizon Wireless products and services in Mt. Laurel and across the country continued during 2005 as the company set new records for customer growth.

For the year, the company added 7.5 million net new customers, and more than 2 million net customer additions during the fourth quarter alone, an industry record. Verizon Wireless also maintained its position as the nation's wireless leader in customer loyalty (highest customer retention and lowest turnover rate). In the fourth quarter of 2005, the company posted a churn rate of 1.2%, well below the rate reported by the other national wireless carriers for the quarter.
