Honolulu, HI — In response to Hawaii's growing demand for Verizon Wireless' products and services, the company will open two additional stores on Oahu in the next 60 days. The new stores, located in the Pearlridge Center and the Moanulua Shopping Center, follow fast on the heels of the recent grand opening of downtown Honolulu's store in the Executive Centre. With additional expansion planned, Verizon Wireless continues to seek talented local employees.

The new stores will be equipped with technical support, bill payment kiosks, and other features, in addition to the full array of Verizon Wireless' voice and data products like the Motorola RAZR and Palm Treo 700. The latest new stores will bring the total number of stores in the state to thirteen, and increase the company's sales force by more than 15 percent. The new positions will bring the total of employees working in the state to more than 180.

"Hawaii is an especially important market for us, given the high demand for the latest in wireless technology among residents and visitors. We have made large-scale investments in the state year after year, both in our network and in our employees. In the past four years alone, our network investment in Hawaii has exceeded $77 million and our workforce has increased 100 percent. We will continue to invest to provide a great customer experience with the most advanced capabilities," said Mark Yamauchi, Verizon Wireless sales director.
