MARYSVILLE, OH — Verizon Wireless has upgraded two cell sites in Marysville, enabling more area customers to use their wireless phones concurrently to make calls, send and receive TXT and Picture Messages, and download games and ring tones while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.

These enhancements increase network capacity in the Maryville area:

  • Along U.S. Route 33 from the town of East Liberty east to Scottslawn Road;
  • From the town of Milford Center north to state routes 347 and 739;
  • From state routes 736 and 38 north to state Route 347.

"During 2005, call volume on our network in Ohio increased by more than 35 percent," said Roger Tang, president—Ohio/Pennsylvania Region, Verizon Wireless. "These network upgrades reflect our ongoing commitment to meet the growing needs of our customers and to provide them with the reliable, high quality service they expect from Verizon Wireless."

Verizon Wireless has invested $30 billion in the last six years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. In 2005, Verizon Wireless invested $190 million in its Ohio network.
