MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morris County resident Daniel Antunes has been named District Manager of Indirect Sales for Verizon Wireless' New York Metro Region.
Supporting the company's continuing commitment to meet the needs of the more than 3.5 million Hispanics in the New York Metro area, Antunes now is responsible for recruiting entrepreneurs in New York and Northern New Jersey neighborhoods with large Spanish-speaking populations to join the Verizon Wireless authorized agent team.
"Our goal is to make all customers feel comfortable doing business with us and to help Spanish-speaking customers get the best value from Verizon Wireless products and services," said Charles Hand, president of the company's New York Metro Region. "Dan's experience, combined with his keen understanding of customer needs, provides the company with a tremendous opportunity to extend our services to more Spanish-speaking customers. The number of Verizon Wireless customers who choose to receive company information in Spanish has grown six fold since 2003."
Verizon Wireless offers agents an attractive package of incentives and broad-based support. Some 22 Verizon Wireless agents currently offer Spanish-language services in the New York Metro area. In his short tenure, Antunes and his team already have added four new agents to the company's retail distribution team.
Antunes began his career with Verizon Wireless in 1994 as a retail sales representative and has spent the past 12 years in various sales positions including his most recent assignment as a national account manager.
A graduate of New Jersey City University, Antunes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communications.
