DALLAS, TX — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable network, announced today that Brent Carter has been named regional associate director - Government Sales. He will lead a team of government account executives focused on promoting and selling the benefits of Verizon Wireless to government accounts across the region, which includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, the Rio Grande Valley, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Little Rock, Arkansas.

"Brent's history of retail and government sales excellence in the wireless industry will continue to benefit Verizon Wireless," said Jim O'Brey, director of Business Sales for Verizon Wireless. "His addition to our business sales team will be a huge boost as we continue to expand our customer base and offer the nation's most reliable network to state and federal agencies."

Carter joins Verizon Wireless with an extensive background in the wireless industry. In 1997, he began his wireless career with Verizon Wireless' predecessor companies in Maryland. He has been with Verizon Wireless for more than 10 years. Carter earned a master's degree in management information systems from the University of Baltimore.
