The company has hired seven local residents to fill newly created retail positions at the store.

Local residents who have been hired to fill the store's new retail positions are:

In addition, Verizon Wireless has promoted three current employees to work at the new Crestwood store. These newly promoted employees previously worked in the Company's Aurora, Ill., Woodfield Mall (Schaumburg, Ill.) and Springfield, Ill., stores, respectively.

"This new store reflects our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience, an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff and our latest wireless devices," said T.J. Fox, president—Illinois/Wisconsin Region, Verizon Wireless. "Demand for our wireless products and new, sophisticated services continues to grow as more consumers take advantage of our recent network expansion in this area."

As part of the store opening, Verizon Wireless is making a $1,000 donation to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia in Tinley Park. For every handset collected at the Crestwood store from August 24 through the end of September, Verizon Wireless will contribute $1 to the Crisis Center for South Suburbia.

The Crestwood store is one of more than 100 company-owned Communications Stores and kiosks in Illinois and is open Monday though Friday from 9 a.m.—9 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m.—8 p.m.; and Sunday from 11 a.m.—6 p.m. The store's phone number is 708-396-9822.
