ANN ARBOR, MI — In response to the growing demand for the company's voice and data products and services, Verizon Wireless today opened a new Communications Store at 3365 Washtenaw Avenue in Chalmers Place shopping plaza. It is the company's fourth retail location in Ann Arbor and its 72nd in Michigan.

The new 3,168-square-foot Verizon Wireless Communications Store offers an expansive array of wireless products and services, including the latest handsets, accessories and data services such as TXT, Picture and video Messaging, high-speed wireless Internet service, wireless email, and V CAST, which offers music, games, and news, weather, sports and entertainment video clips.

"This new store reflects our ongoing commitment to provide our customers with increased convenience and an accessible, knowledgeable sales staff," said Greg Haller, president—Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky Region, Verizon Wireless. "Consumer demand for our wireless service continues to grow as our network upgrades provide new, more sophisticated services for our customers."

To further reinforce its commitment to the community, Verizon Wireless is donating $2,500 to SafeHouse Center in Ann Arbor, an organization serving domestic violence survivors and their families.

"A community is only as strong as its members who support one another," Haller continued. "Verizon Wireless is deeply committed to giving back to the communities where our employees and customers live and work. This donation reflects our commitment to the people of Ann Arbor and our ongoing support of domestic violence awareness and prevention."

The store also provides a HopeLine® phone collection bin where anyone can donate no-longer-used wireless handsets and accessories. Through the award-winning Verizon Wireless HopeLine program, most of the donated handsets and equipment are refurbished and sold, with proceeds going to support domestic violence awareness and prevention programs. Remaining handsets are recycled in an environmentally safe way.

Managed by Aaron Roach, the new Verizon Wireless Communications Store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.—8 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.—5 p.m. The store's phone number is 734-973-8336.
