LITTLE ROCK, AK — In its continued effort to provide the nation's most reliable network for residents in Arkansas, Verizon Wireless announced today the expansion of its network into Conway.
The company's service footprint was increased to add Conway with the addition of 18 new advanced digital cell sites, providing expanded coverage along Interstate 40 from Mayflower to Morrilton, along U.S. Hwy.65 north to Damascus and along U.S. Hwy. 64 east to Hamlet.
The new coverage area includes enhanced service for students at the University of Central Arkansas and Hendrix College, for business travelers in and out of Conway Municipal Airport and to families who need to talk with loved ones from Conway Regional Medical Center.
The launch of service to the Conway area is part of the company's continuing growth and investment in Arkansas. Verizon Wireless, which launched service in the state in 2005, has already invested almost $24 million in the state this year.
"This aggressive network investment in excess of $30 billion nationally during the past six years ensures that Verizon Wireless will continue to stay ahead of growing demand for wireless voice and data services throughout the state," said Luis Cruz, region president for Verizon Wireless. "With the growing neighborhoods, vibrant business community and large number of college students, Conway is an important market for Verizon Wireless."
A Verizon Wireless retail store in Conway is scheduled to open in 2007. Currently, customers can purchase Verizon Wireless products and services from a variety of locations in Little Rock and North Little Rock, including:
