Network Enhancement Gives Wireless Customers in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania Something to Talk About

Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Schuylkill Haven, increasing network coverage and capacity in the town and in portions of Schuylkill County.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA — The network enhancement enables more Verizon Wireless customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive email and TXT, Picture and Video Messages; and download games and ring tones.

The new cell site improves network coverage and capacity in the towns of Schuylkill Haven and Cressona. In addition, coverage is improved in the town of Lake Wynonah and portions of state routes 61, 183, 443 and 895.

These recent enhancements in Schuylkill County are part of Verizon Wireless' continual effort to increase capacity and enhance the quality of its wireless voice and data network in Pennsylvania and throughout the country. Verizon Wireless has invested $35 billion in the last seven years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. More than $160 million of this investment was spent in Pennsylvania in 2006.
