Verizon Wireless Celebrates Grand Opening Of Communications Store In Greenwood, South Carolina

GREENWOOD, SC — In response to growing demand for the company's voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new, full-service communications store in Greenwood, South Carolina. Verizon Wireless kicks-off the official grand opening week February 10th—17th, 2007. The new Greenwood Verizon Wireless store, located at 1101 Montague Ave., Bypass 72 West, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 10th at 11 AM, with Greenwood City officials.

In honor of the Verizon Wireless HopeLine^® program — a program long dedicated to putting wireless products to work to combat domestic violence — Verizon Wireless will donate $1,000 to Meg's House, a non-profit organization in Greenwood County that serves as a local emergency shelter for abused women and children.

"Domestic abuse devastates both adults and children, and our goal is to serve as a safe place for victims in our community," said Alice Hodges, Executive Director for Meg's House. "Verizon Wireless' advocacy of domestic violence prevention and the financial contributions they make to organizations like ours provide the support needed to make our efforts successful."

The check presentation will take place in conjunction with the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 10th at 11 AM.

Store hours for the new Greenwood store are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday, 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Store manager Christal Adams will lead the Greenwood sales team.
