GREENWOOD, SC — In response to growing demand for the company's voice and data services, Verizon Wireless has opened a new, full-service communications store in Greenwood, South Carolina. Verizon Wireless kicks-off the official grand opening week February 10th—17th, 2007. The new Greenwood Verizon Wireless store, located at 1101 Montague Ave., Bypass 72 West, will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 10th at 11 AM, with Greenwood City officials.

In honor of the Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program — a program long dedicated to putting wireless products to work to combat domestic violence — Verizon Wireless will donate $1,000 to Meg's House, a non-profit organization in Greenwood County that serves as a local emergency shelter for abused women and children.

"Domestic abuse devastates both adults and children, and our goal is to serve as a safe place for victims in our community," said Alice Hodges, Executive Director for Meg's House. "Verizon Wireless' advocacy of domestic violence prevention and the financial contributions they make to organizations like ours provide the support needed to make our efforts successful."

The check presentation will take place in conjunction with the ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, February 10th at 11 AM.

In addition to the community donation, to celebrate the grand opening of the new Greenwood store, Verizon Wireless is offering customers a chance to win a free LG Chocolate phone, the ultimate mobile phone, loaded with hot features, such as V CAST, V CAST Music, and fabulous tools like VZ NavigatorSM, all packaged within a smooth slider design.

Additional grand opening initiatives February 10th — 17th include 1,000 Bonus Minutes with a new 2-year activation and a waived activation fee, as well as a live broadcast by B93.7 from Noon — 2 PM on Saturday, Feb. 10th.

The new Greenwood store features the full range of Verizon Wireless products and services and is fully staffed for customer service and technical support, allowing customers to speak with Verizon Wireless' highly trained representatives about all of their wireless needs.

The new store also features:

  • A top-of-the-line self-service center with bill payment kiosk
  • An informational video displayed on an LCD screen that provides customers with information on the latest handsets and accessories, the Verizon Wireless network, wireless tips, roadside assistance, customer service, account management options and much more.

Store hours for the new Greenwood store are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday from 9 AM to 8 PM and Sunday, 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Store manager Christal Adams will lead the Greenwood sales team.
