TULSA, OK — Verizon Wireless, owner and operator of the nation's most reliable wireless network, has recently enhanced its network in the Tulsa area by building seven new digital cell towers. The new sites will expand and boost the company's network to include outlying areas of northeastern Oklahoma. Key locations that will benefit from these towers include the midtown Tulsa area, Sand Springs/Keystone Lake area, and the areas surrounding Winchester, Okmulgee and Kellyville.

The new sites are equipped with the company's advanced high-speed Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) technology and are part of the company's continuing growth and investment in Oklahoma. Currently, the company has already invested more than $36 million in Oklahoma and the coverage area will continue to grow.

"We are committed to providing the highest quality of service to our customers," said Lee Maschmann, executive director - Network for Verizon Wireless. "By expanding our coverage in Oklahoma, we are able to meet the growing voice and data needs of businesses and consumers."

Midtown Tulsa residents will benefit from the new site located between Interstate 244, East 15th St., Harvard Ave. and Utica Ave.

Coverage in the areas west of Sand Springs along Highway 412 will also improve with the installment of a new site, which will also benefit those around Keystone Lake.

The Kellyville West site, located along Interstate 44 between Sapulpa and Bristow, was recently activated to improve service in Kellyville OK and the interstate between Kellyville and South 273rd West Avenue.

Residents in the Okmulgee area will find enhanced service area as well. Several new sites have been added to the area including two sites in Okmulgee, one in Preston and one in Winchester. The expanded coverage should include: the town of Winchester and the area along Okmulgee Beeline between Beggs and Mounds and the city of Okmulgee.
