MOUNT UNION, PA — Verizon Wireless has brought a temporary cell site-called a COW, or Cell On Wheels-to the Agape Farm in Huntingdon County, Pa., to provide additional network calling capacity for the thousands of people expected to flock to the region to enjoy the Creation Festival event, which runs June 27 through June 30.

This service enhancement means that more customers can use the Verizon Wireless network concurrently, whether making voice calls or using data applications such as text and picture messaging, or downloading games and Ringtones with the company's Get It Now® services.

"The Creation Festival attracts thousands of visitors and that means additional demand for wireless service, even though it may be for just a few days," said Roger Tang—president, Ohio/Pennsylvania/West Virginia Region, Verizon Wireless. "Our COW enables us to meet that temporary increase in call volume and to provide our customers with the high quality of service they expect from Verizon Wireless."

The ability to meet call volume demand, even on a temporary basis, is part of the company's commitment to stay ahead of the growing need for Verizon Wireless' voice and data services. The company has invested $37 billion in the last seven years-$5 billion on average every year since the company was formed-to increase the coverage and capacity of its national network and to add new services. It has invested more than $795 million over the past six years in its Pennsylvania network.
