SANTA BARBARA, CA — Wait times at the airport, doctors' offices and restaurants just got a little bit more interesting for Verizon Wireless customers in Santa Barbara, Calif., who can now watch broadcast-quality television on select TV-enabled handsets.

Verizon Wireless V CAST Mobile TV service allows wireless customers to catch sporting events, breaking news and their favorite network TV shows — not to mention make phone calls — while on-the-go.

V CAST Mobile TV offers programming for TV viewers of all ages and interests including the "Late Show with David Letterman," "24" and "Dora the Explorer." The service offers live shows and mobile television content from CBS Mobile, Comedy Central, ESPN MobileTV, Fox Mobile, MTV, NBC 2Go, NBC News2Go, and Nickelodeon.

The service also comes with parental control features, so parents can monitor and restrict the programs their children view.

"This goes way beyond any other video offerings in the wireless market right now," said Rich Garwood, region president for Verizon Wireless. "No buffering. No lag time. It's like flipping on your television at home. You absolutely have to see it to believe the quality of this service."

During Verizon Wireless' Red Hot Deal Days from August 12 to September 3, customers can purchase the V CAST Mobile TV-enabled LG VX9400 for only $99.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate on a two-year customer agreement. Also available for V CAST Mobile TV customers is the Samsung SCH-u620 for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate on a two-year customer agreement.

Monthly access packages range from $13 to $25 per month. For more information, visit the dedicated V CAST Mobile TV Web site at www.verizonwireless.com/mobiletv.
